Back in 2010, i did my first race ever - Shortest Triathlon in Emeryville, and i was adamant about how much i HATE running... i STILL hate running, but i figure if i dropped cash to do it, i'd be forced to train.... well, i have in the past, and i just did - first one is the Oakland Running Festival Marathon Team Relay in March... everyone gets a medal, and a shirt... frikin awesome - i wonder if it's gonna say Relay or Marathon???
Last year, I did the Oakland Half. I didn't train for it except that i walked Lake Merritt once (3.1 miles) a week before to see how i would feel... with that said, this year, i'm thinking i really can't do more than one half marathon - i just don't see it happening with work, and work, and school, and choir, and cakes... which explains why instead of the half or the full Oakland Run, I opted for the Team Relay, where each person runs 6-7 miles - not too bad... (about a 10k)
All this, leading up to my DIVAS Marathon in May. There was a question on the registration for the event asking why I chose this half marathon: was it because it was women only, or it was because it was close to home... etc etc... i looked for MY reason, but it wasn't there: "because I AM a diva" *flips hair* DUH...
(SHIT... Now I have to start training....)
